We're Ready Now, We're All Aglow by loganberrybunny We're Ready Now, We're All Aglow by loganberrybunny
Left: BR Standard Class 7 4-6-2 no. 70000 Britannia (Crewe 1951)
Right front: GWR Manor Class 4-6-0 no. 7822 Foxcote Manor (Swindon 1950)
Right rear: LNER Peppercorn A1 4-6-2 no. 60163 Tornado (Darlington 2008)

"Steel, Steam & Stars III", Llangollen Railway, April 2012. The two locos on the right are departing double-headed light engine.

The title is me being silly: it's a line from a song called "At the Gala" which seemed rather appropriate for steam engines. :P

That GWR is looking at the Brittania next to it like "Dinkelburg!". Nice reference XD!

Chances are, I may have been standing near you, as I got a video shot similar to this...

Great snap all the same; what an incredible gala that was!

I certainly remember it being a bit of a squash on that bridge! Thanks; it was a memorable event. Thankfully not only because of the mud!

Ponies and classic British steam always go well together.

*Grins* I wondered when someone would actually get the reference! I'm sure someone, somewhere has done a parody of the Friendship Express as hauled by an A4...

Hmmm.. Well, if you were to stop by my gallery, you can see I'm currently working on an A4 digital "sprite"

Honestly, this is a really stunning photo. Very nice and sharp, and so much detail, and I really like the way the steam has kind of framed it too. Though the poor chap in orange looks as if he's about to get well and truly steamed, from the look of it! And the guy at the top right is in a bit of a precarious place - rather him than me. :o
