Description
Severn Valley Railway: the slightly incongruous sight of Class 50 no. 50031 Hood hauling a rake of pre-war LNER teak carriages as a southbound train departs Highley. The SVR is currently having a bit (well, a lot) of a steam loco shortage, and of Monday's three diagrams, two were diesel-hauled. Still, it was something different.

Do we really have a steam loco shortage? I know that we have got this new tank to make up the diff, but surely with SKP our Prairie tanks and good old 2857 we are well enough off in engines? I know we rented a new tank engine as of yesterday though.
