Autumnal Arley
On a pleasant autumn morning, GWR 1500 Class 0-6-0PT no. 1501 arrives at Arley with a local service to Highley during the Severn Valley Railway's End of Season Gala in November 2016. Although a GWR design, the loco was built by British Railways in 1949, after nationalisation. No. 1501 is the only surviving member of the ten-strong class.

Orange Rhyme
It's a pony. Honest. Look, try squinting. Or closing one eye. Better yet, closing both eyes. Ahem, anyway... this is Orange Rhyme*, an MLP OC stallion character I've just made up, who is looking remarkably cheerful about his horribly deformed body. In my defence, this is only the second MLP pony picture I have ever drawn. I'm more than aware the anatomy is horrible, but hey, getting the right number of legs is an achievement for me. And smudgy pencil crayons FTW!

Drawn (if that's the word) for Equestria Daily's Newbie Artists Training Grounds 2016.

* Because nothing rhymes with orange, and nothing is quite like this. Thankfully.

Maud Pie at the Pictish Stone
Here we see well-known rock enthusiast Maud Pie admiring the 1,300-year-old Pictish Stone on the Isle of Raasay, western Scotland. The stone was originally found elsewhere on the island, and moved to its present location in the 19th century to protect it from the elements.

Taken for Equestria Daily's "Ponies Around the World 2016" feature.

Up to episode 30 in season 1 right now, and it seems like it's finally getting into gear. The first ten-ish episodes are frankly a bit dull, even allowing for the fact that they set things up. Comparing with MLP, it's obviously addressing some more mature themes -- though as a PG-rated show, compared with MLP's TV-Y, it's not really a fair comparison. I like the gradual worldbuilding, too. The songs aren't in the same league as Daniel Ingram's though, and I don't find the animation style as nice. Right now, I'd say that I like SU, but I don't love it in the way I love Pony. Admittedly it helps that season five of MLP is hitting it out of the park more often than not.

Hey, don't let my non-pony/furry avatar fool you. It's Corduroy from the forums. :)

Heh, I could say much the same thing about my avatar. (And yes, I know this is a year and a half late. I've barely used DA for ages...)

Fluttershy up to mischief., I'm sure of it. I noticed a Fluttershy fans club listed on there too. :)

*Grins* I think I'm blaming Pinkie for any mischief. ;)

As if Pinkie would ever do anything cheeky. Except for those occassions when she does. ;)

That really is beautifully drawn. I wish so, so much, though, that the artist hadn't (as she says in a comment) "decided to make [Fluttershy's eyes] green" -- I don't see the point of that at all, and it really takes away from an otherwise stunning picture for me.

However, all is not lost! The same artist also drew this Fluttershy picture, which gets her eyes right and which I love to pieces. :)

I hadn't noticed the eye colour, but yeah that is a bit of a shame, especially when it wasn't really necessary. Ah well... But I hadn't seen that other one, so thanks for that link! That one really is a stunning piece of artwork, as is the Fluttershy on her profile!
